Blues boss insists it’s “not a problem” if Chelsea decide to sack him

Mauricio Pochettino has insisted it’s “not a problem”  if Chelsea decide to sack him at the end of the season amid on going speculation over his future.

Pochettino has become increasingly outspoken in press conferences when questioned on whether he will be in the Stamford Bridge hot seat next season.

After the recent win against Tottenham the Argentine called for an end to what he described as “stupid rumours” over his future, but the questions and rumours have persisted.

Pochettino insists it wouldn’t be a problem if Chelsea sack him

Blues chairman Todd Boehly spoke publicly earlier this week and said his plans for the club are “coming together”, but as of yet no decision over whether the 52-year-old will stay has been communicated in public.

Pochettino is set to sit down with the club’s hierarchy at the end of the season to discuss his future, as has always been the plan, but the former Tottenham boss has called on the owners to “kill the rumours” if they are going to stick with him next season.

Pochettino has recently called for an end to rumours about his future.

“First, it is not my decision because if the owners are thinking to change, yes for sure in one week we will know, he told The Guardian.

“That’s an instability with which we are comfortable with working.

“We start to work and work until the end, we are going to be very strong to try to help.

“It’s true that in the last few months like we were talking, that question is always coming.

“You need to kill the rumours if that’s not true, if not the rumour is there for a different strategy.

“If you ask is it affecting me? It is not affecting me. Is it affecting the people working with us?

“I think yes because in the end you can kill the rumour, sack me and that’s not a problem, it happens in a lot of clubs.”

Pochettino’s men currently sit seventh in the Premier League with three games remaining, starting with Saturday Evening’s trip to Nottingham Forest.

To secure a top six finish and Europa League football the Blues will need to take maximum points and hope Newcastle slip up.
