TalkSPORT pundit believes Chelsea ace has gone to a “different level” in the last six weeks

Simon Jordan believes Cole Palmer’s performances have gone to a “different level” since April as he continues to impress this season.

Palmer has taken the Premier League by storm following his deadline day move from Manchester City last summer, and has scored 21 goals and provided ten assists in the league this season.

The 22-year-old has quickly established himself as Chelsea’s go to man and has singled handedly won games for the Blues this season.

Palmer’s gone to a different level

Chelsea as a whole have been on an upward trajectory in 2024 with only Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool taking more points than the Blues this calendar year.

Whilst Palmer has made an impact pretty much all season, since April he has eight goals in seven starts and was named Premier League Player of the Month, becoming the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard in 2018 to win the award.

Jordan believes Palmer’s performances have gone to a “different level” since April.

Palmer’s form has seen him become a full England international and be nominated for the Premier League Player and Young Player of the Year awards.

Jordan believes the England international has gone to a “different level” in recent weeks, but admitted he did have his doubts over him.

“I kind of had reservations about him [Palmer] initially because I thought there’s no way that [Pep] Guardiola just lets him go because he can’t manage the kid’s expectations”, Jordan told talkSPORT.

“Then I’ve seen in the last six weeks an acceleration in Cole Palmer. I thought he was doing well but in recent performances, he’s gone to a different level.”

Palmer’s immediate focus will be on finishing the season strongly and helping Chelsea secure a top six finish, with the Blues needing to win both their remaining games and hope Newcastle slip up.

The former City man will be hoping his season extends into the summer and his form this season means he must be a certainty for Gareth Southgate’s final squad for the Euros.
