Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on one current transfer situation that involves Chelsea this morning.
One thing we don’t even know for sure yet is whether manager Mauricio Pochettino will still be in charge at the club going into next season. There are meetings due to happen early this week, and there’s even been reports out this morning claiming that Chelsea have spoken with two potential Pochettino replacements recently.
Sources: Managerial merry-go-round that is likely to effect Chelsea this summer!
But the summer recruitment plans continue to go ahead regardless of any of that, and Chelsea will have clear targets for the summer transfer window.
Is one of them Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, who has been linked with Chelsea again recently.
So what is transfer guru Romano saying about this situation?
Romano, speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for the latest edition of his Daily Briefing column, has made it clear that he expects Summerville to get the chance to seal a big move this summer, though it was not something decided just yet.
Fabrizio Romano said: “They [Chelsea] are one of the names being linked with Leeds United’s talented young winger Crysencio Summerville. The race is open, but with nothing close or imminent right now. There are really many clubs tracking him – I already reported about Liverpool last month, and for sure, Summerville is expected to get a top club chance in the summer, but again, nothing is close now.”
I think it looks almost certain that he will leave the club this summer, with Leeds in the need to get some more profits back into the club. However, they will be caught between a rock and a hard place with needing to sell to balance some books, but also needing to keep a squad that will be good enough to either compete in the Premier League, or challenge at the top of the Championship again.
We don’t need ANOTHER winger (unless we manage to sell Sterling). What we need is a world class keeper!
In an excellent end-of-season piece “The Athletic” showed all of the league’s keepers based on xGs conceded and actual goals conceded and Petrovic is second to last! He’s well below even Sanchez and he’s miles off the best keepers in the league. While we can agree that he might be good value for the money we spent on him, he’s nowhere near good enough to help us win trophies.
This squad has shown it can score the goals (our attacking options are not the problem!), but the defence has leaked goals like a sieve and we can’t expect to improve on a sixth place finish if we don’t address the elephant in the room!
The reasons Petroviç conceded that much mostly because of 2 French donkeys at centre backs most of the season. First timer Petroviç of course played more games than butterfingers Sanchez. If it was mistake prone Sanchez surely he will take first of the below by miles.
Oh and we don’t t need a decent striker yea?? Because we have the most prolific striker Jackson who scores a goal every 10 games and wastes 7 goal scoring chances and assists. It helps very much in contributing to demoralising the team through out the whole season. Simple EPL rules ‘you don’t take your opportunity you’ll get punished’
bring a striker defender bnd one holding middifilder.
