Chelsea lead 1-0 at the Amex. And who else? It was Cole Palmer.
He has just scored a great header from a wonky cutback from Marc Cucurella. We’re not quite sure what he meant with his ball in, and it found Palmer in a tricky position – but the goal machine took it first time and found the net.
It was an unusual header in a way, you rarely see a player take on a header short of the near post and then guide it into the far side netting. But if anyone can, Cole Palmer can. And he did.
He had no other option from that ball, and in the end that was to his benefit as the first time effort found the goal.
1-0 Chelsea, a great moment in the game and another massive step towards European football we weren’t expecting.
