(Video) – Marc Cucurella’s emotional reaction to being named in Spain’s provisional Euro 2024 squad

Marc Cucurella has endured a difficult time at Stamford Bridge, but his fine form in the second half of the season saw him rewarded with a place in Spain’s provisional Euro 2024 squad.

Cucurella was watching the squad announcement with his family and friends, and when his name got announced you could see how much it meant to him by his emotional reaction.

The Spain international arrived from Brighton in a deal worth £63m in 2022, and to be honest had a poor first season, and was even booed at times as Chelsea endured a miserable campaign, which saw them finish 12th.

There’s every chance he wouldn’t have been at Chelsea this season had his loan move to Manchester United gone through last summer.

The Spaniard started the season behind vice captain Ben Chilwell, but got his opportunity in the team through injury to others, and made the most of it, even impressing at right back.

Cucurella picked up an ankle injury in December which ruled him out for a couple of months, but returned to the side and put in some good performances.

The left back really showed what he was capable of during the final five games of the season after being inverted into midfield when the Blues were in possession, with fans loving his performances and chanting his name throughout games.
