(Video) – Chelsea star impresses on the international stage after finally getting his chance

Cole Palmer has had to be patient at Euro 2024 but he finally got his chance to impress in England’s draw against Slovenia on Tuesday night.

Despite his brilliant season for Chelsea, Palmer has had to bide his time at the Euros, and he was completely overlooked for the first two games by Gareth Southgate.

The 22-year-old was once again named on the bench against Slovenia, but with 20 minutes to go he was handed his opportunity as he replaced Bukayo Saka.

England instantly looked better with Palmer on the pitch as he injected some much needed urgency into proceedings, and looked a threat throughout.

Palmer could have won it late on with a decent chance that you would normally expect him to tuck away, but he more than showed what he can do, and drew praise from pundits afterwards, with many saying Southgate needs to find a way to get him into the team.

Chelsea fans know what Palmer is all about, and it’s great to see he’s getting the recognition he deserves from the wider footballing community.

England are back in action on Sunday in the last 16 and Palmer will be hoping for another chance to impress for the Three Lions.
