One source has completely ruled out one Chelsea transfer deal already after a club asks for some information on the potential move.
As we head into another summer transfer window very soon, clubs are looking to do their business and get deals done ahead of a new season. Some clubs will like to have all their business done before pre-season begins, and others are happy to let things run on in order to get the very best deals, thus leaving things late. It’s a risky strategy, but we will see whether Chelsea do that or if they want to get all their deals done well in advance of the new season.
Sources: Players reaction to Enzo Maresca plus the director who pushed the appointment
With a new manager now at the helm in Enzo Maresca, you’d expect that Chelsea will want to have his squad fully in place by pre-season so he can see what he has to work with and also, he has a new style of play to implement so will want everyone in tow by then.
Lukaku will not be in tow
It’s highly unlikely and in fact, probably impossible that striker Romelu Lukaku will be one of the players joining Maresca in Chelsea’s pre-season.
Not one part of me thinks he will be back anywhere near Chelsea again and I can only see him being sold this summer – he simply HAS to be.
Italian source Gianluca Di Marzio has an update on Lukaku, but it’s a bit of a nonstarter unfortunately.
He says AC Milan have asked for information from Chelsea on Romelu Lukaku. It would be a loan. However, Chelsea are not open for a loan move for Lukaku and will only seek a permanent sale.
So this potential move has been ruled out before it’s even started, unless Milan are willing to do a permanent deal for the ageing striker.
