Chelsea among clubs interested in £50m rated Bundesliga ace impressing at Euro 2024

Chelsea are one of the club’s interested in RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo, with the Spaniard’s £50m release clause set to expire on Monday according to reports.

Olmo has been in good form for Spain at Euro 2024 and scored the winner on Tuesday evening against France to send them into Sunday’s final against England or the Netherlands.

No player has scored more goals than the 26-year-old who has found the back of the net three times in Germany so far along with four other players.

Chelsea interested in Olmo

Olmo joined Leipzig from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in 2020 and has scored 29 goals and provided 34 assists in 148 appearances to date.

The Spain international has attracted interest from a host of Europe’s top club’s and is set to seek clarity on his future once Euro 2024 has concluded.

Olmo has a release clause of £50m in his RB Leipzig contract.

Olmo, who is under contract at the Bundesliga club until 2027 is understood to have a £50m release clause in his contract, and Mirror Football have reported Chelsea are among the club’s to have shown interest, but Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for the Spaniard, whilst clubs in Spain are also interested.

Mirror Football add that if clubs continue to show interest beyond Monday then Leipzig would look to command between £60m-£70m for one of their star players, meaning any potential suitors would need to move quickly in order to secure a deal for £50m.

Whilst Olmo is clearly a gifted player he’s a profile that simply isn’t needed in the Chelsea squad currently, particularly as the club have just signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester.

Renato Veiga is on the verge of becoming the Chelsea’s sixth summer signing and the 20-year-old is set to complete his move from Swiss side FC Basel this week.

The Blues are still looking to sign a striker and a winger and have recently been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and Porto’s Francisco Conceicao, whilst they are still keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion.
