(Image) Chelsea ace shines on the international stage once again

Marc Cucurella is now just two games away from winning the European Championships with Spain following their win over Germany on Friday.

Cucurella played the full 120 minutes as Spain won 2-1 thanks to Mikel Merino’s brilliant header from Dani Olmo’s cross in the 119th minute to set up a semi final against France.

The 25-year-old has started every game for Spain bar the last group game against Albania, and has established himself as a key member of the national side.

Spain have only conceded two goals in five games at the tournament, with one of those an own goal, and the Spaniard has been a key part of a resolute backline.

Cucurella has taken his end of season form with Chelsea onto the international stage and is looking every bit the player Chelsea paid Brighton over £60m for back in 2022.

It’s great to see him getting the praise his performances deserve and against Germany he was brilliant once again.

Given he can invert into midfield Cucurella could be set for a key role under Enzo Maresca next season and there’s every chance he will begin next season as Chelsea’s first choice left back.
