After a dodgy season on loan in Belgium last season, young Chelsea goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina has a lot of work to do on loan in League One with Barnsley this season. But he’s off to a great start.
He was the hero in the penalty shootout in the League Cup in midweek, and yesterday came up trumps again with a huge save towards the end as his team held on to beat Lincoln.
We’re still not convinced Slonina is going to be playing for Chelsea anytime soon, but this is the best possible start to his season, and we hope he has a brilliant year down there in League One.
