Jadon Sancho hasn’t been at Chelsea long but one thing about Enzo Maresca has already impressed him according to Journalist Ben Jacobs.
Sancho arrived on deadline day from Manchester United on an initial loan deal which will become permanent for around £25m as long as the Blues don’t finish in the bottom six of the Premier League.
The 24-year-old had to wait until after the international break to make his debut against Bournemouth, but for Maresca and the supporters it was worth the wait.
Sancho impressed by Maresca
After a frustrating first half in which Chelsea were below their best Maresca turned to Sancho at the break and sent him on to replace Pedro Neto.
The winger made an instant impact and gave the Blues a lift as he looked to take on his man at every occasion and tried to make things happen.
Sancho’s impressive performance ended with him setting up Christopher Nkunku for the winner against the Cherries and he was also named man of the match.
After a difficult spell at United the move to Chelsea very much feels like a fresh start for Sancho and a chance to get his career back on track.
Reports have already suggested he’s impressed Maresca with his attitude, but Jacobs has reported how Sancho has been impressed by the Italian’s man management.
Writing for GIVEMESPORT Jacobs said:
“Sancho has also been struck by Maresca’s man management, with the Italian’s private chat with the player making it clear that the former United winger has a clean slate and there will be no looking back on his time at Old Trafford.
“That, coupled with an already close bond with current Blues star Nkunku, who he assisted for the winner on the south coast.”
If Chelsea can get Sancho back to his Borussia Dortmund form then at £25m they will have got themselves an absolute bargain and the England international could be in line for his first start against West Ham on Saturday lunchtime.
