Trevoh Chalobah in action against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi final.

Chelsea ownership battle to be resolved in 60 days, Todd Boehly wanted Chalobah over Tosin

So here we go then, massive articles coming out pushing both sides of the Chelsea ownership battle with each party seemingly taking shots at the other through media briefings.

It looks like this is now what we have to put up with for the next 60 days. And who knows, it might even be longer than that. There will be much hope that it will be shorter than that though, because none of this is what anyone involved in Chelsea needs right now.

Let the battle for the Chelsea ownership commence, with shots being fired.

Ben Jacobs has a huge article out on it all this week for Give Me Sport, and it details many points and ‘shots’ from both sides with some great info in it. Ben has good connections to the Chelsea board so it’s interesting to see what both sides are pushing.

Boehly wanted to keep Chalobah

Battle of The Bridge

Jacobs says:

‘Chelsea co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly have irreconcilable differences with both parties seeking a resolution before the year is out. Those on the Boehly side hope a direction of travel will become apparent within 60 days, believing the sooner the matter is dealt with the better it will be for the club.’

And it seems Boehly wanted to keep Trevoh Chalobah over signing Tosin Adarabioyo. Jacobs continues:

‘Some within the football department question how Tosin Adarabioyo is an upgrade on Trevoh Chalobah, a Cobham product and one of Chelsea’s form players at the end of last season. Yet Clearlake sources maintain Tosin is a smart and low-risk addition – a free transfer, who offers much-needed height in both boxes and is a natural leader.

  1. To be honest as a chelsea supporter for over 50yrs i just wish all the yanks just piss off back to America and leave us alone ,in 2years they have turned My club into the biggest football joke ever and we are a laughing stock of the prem

  2. As a CFC supporter I used to snigger at the demise of Man U but boy has it come back to haunt me. It hurts to see Romans great achievments wiped out in two short years. Yes there was manager drama but the many trophies still arrived. We need stable leaders. Problem is these owners are not “football men” but just business men who know very little if nothing about the game. They aren’t much better then the Glazers except they do spend stupid money. We are cloning the Man U model and we all know what that could mean. Embarrisment and years of frustration. Lets hope Im totally wrong. My blood has been blue for 54 years.

  3. How you let Chalobah who can play number 2 in absence of James and gusto, number 4, number 5 and 3 in absence of chillwelk and cucurella go to crystal palace and you remain with Disasi, Badiashille. Two mediocre. For sure we will not forget about this
