Clearklake Capital believe they have the right structure and squad in place to take Chelsea back to the top according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
There’s been a period of significant upheaval following the sale of the club to the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital consortium.
The Blues have seen virtually the whole squad change from the one that won the Champions League back in 2021, and with Enzo Maresca they are now on their fourth permanent manager in just over two years.
Clearlake confident they can take Chelsea back to the top
Chelsea’s transfer strategy has completed changed and the club have now built a squad of some of the most talented youngsters from around the world, whilst they appear to be overlooking established more experienced players.
It’s been a difficult two years on the pitch and following a dismal 12th placed finish in the 2022/2023 campaign the Blues did improve last season as they recorded a top six finish and a return to European football.
Chelsea have been without Champions League football for two seasons now and whilst the race for the top four is seemingly very open this season the club need to find some consistency over the course of the season, which is something they haven’t managed to do over the last two campaigns.
The pieces appear to be there in order to get back to the top, and whilst a top striker is still missing there’s certainly more than enough in the squad to get back into the Champions League.
Sky Sports reporter Solhekol has reported that after all the upheaval Clearlake believe they have everything in place to take Chelsea back to to the top.
He took to X.com and said:
“Clearlake believe that after a period of upheaval they now have the right structure and squad in place to take the club back to the top.”
Chelsea fans will be hoping that’s the case and the club really need a good season given the relationship between the supporters and ownership isn’t the best currently.
