Journalist: 2 Chelsea players had to be frequently reminded of their positions in Barrow win

According to one journalist who was watching on from behind the Chelsea dugout at Stamford Bridge last night, there was two Chelsea players who had to be frequently told by Enzo Maresca about their positioning.

We know that Maresca is a very involved manager and likes to be vocal from the sidelines barking out his instructions, and this should certainly be seen as a good thing.

He seems to be winning Chelsea fans over now and this is likely to be one of the reasons that he is. Maresca’s style of play is starting to come through a bit more now as well, but his in-game management also looks to be on point.

He knows exactly where he wants each of his players to be on the pitch during the game, but sometimes they needed reminding.

It was Joao Felix and Cesare Casadei who needed constant reminders last night in their 5-0 win over Barrow in the League Cup third round.

It was London World’s Rahman Osman who spotted this, and put in his report from the game out today.

Osman wrote:

‘One thing you notice when sitting behind the manager is his passion for keeping players in their assigned positions. He was quick to call Joao Felix back into position, as he wanted Félix to occupy the No. 10 role and join Nkunku in leading the press.

‘Cesare Casadei was frequently reminded by Enzo Maresca to occupy his midfield spot and not vacate it against Barrow.’
