Player Chelsea insist isn’t for sale attracting interest from Germany and Italy ahead of January window

German and Italian clubs are interested in Benoit Badiashile but the Frenchman is fully focused on Chelsea according to reports.

Badiashile was one of a number of signings in January 2023 with the Blues paying Monaco £35m for the France international.

The 23-year-old went straight into Graham Potter’s struggling Chelsea side and put in a series of impressive performances as he made it look like he’d played in the league for years.

Badiashile picked up an injury at the back end of the 2022/2023 campaign which ruled him out for a number of months and he really struggled on his return to the side under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Frenchman made 22 appearances in all competitions, with 18 of those coming in the Premier League, but he looked a shadow of himself as he made a number of errors.

Enzo Maresca has gone with Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana as his first choice pairing meaning Badiashile has had to make do with the majority of his minutes coming in the cup competitions.

With Malo Gusto ill Badiashile was handed his first league start of the season against Leicester and put in an impressive performance, although Jason Cundy admitted he’s still on the fence with the centre back.

His lack of game time has seen him linked with a move away although Chelsea put out a briefing earlier this month stating he wasn’t for sale and was very much part of the project moving forward.

French outlet Foot Mercato have reported German and Italian clubs are interested in Badiashile but he remains fully focused on Chelsea where he is under contract until 2030.

Badiashile has started back to back games for the Blues and has made ten appearances in all competitions, and he will be hoping his recent form will see him get more regular Premier League action having been left on the bench or not included in the squad for ten of the 12 matches this season.
