One Chelsea player has been recording the highest average stats for two key things since the legend that is N’Golo Kante.
The midfielder was an incredible player for Chelsea over the years, even if he was plagued by injuries. He since left the club of course and headed to Saudi. But Chelsea fans will forever hold a special place on their hearts for Kante, who was one heck of a player, and still is to be honest.

But the main thing that is Kante’s strength and what he became known for, was his tackling and intercepting. There aren’t many players past or present who can break up play as well as Kante does, especially when he was in a Chelsea shirt.
But perhaps one player who could get close is current Blues man Moises Caicedo, who does have a lot of Kante in his game.
Caicedo hits some decent stats
Although he had a slow start to his Chelsea career as he settled into a new club, he has just elevated to incredible levels this season and has become so important and so consistent for Chelsea.
He’s also hitting those N’Golo Kante numbers!
As per the Chelsea website, Caicedo has recorded the most tackles and interceptions this season (48), with the highest average per 90 minutes (5.4) by any Chelsea player since the great N’Golo Kante (5.8) in 2020/21.
To even be mentioned in the same breath as Kante is a massive compliment for any player. And a lot of fans were left asking how we replace Kante when he left the club. Well, Caicedo may well be the answer to that.
He will be an important starter for Chelsea later today as well as they get ready to take on Manchester United in their next Premier League match.
