Cole Palmer took to social media on Friday to drop a hint on his fitness ahead of Arsenal’s visit to Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Chelsea are currently sweating on Palmer’s fitness after he was on the receiving end of a reckless challenge from Lisandro Martinez during last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

The 22-year-old has yet to train this week and Enzo Maresca admitted he was hopeful Palmer could train on Saturday and then a decision would be taken.

Despite signing the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho in the summer it still very much feels likes Palmer is Chelsea’s main man.

The England international has picked up where he left off last season and has seven goals and five assists in the first ten games of the campaign.

The Blues have only won one of their last nine meetings with Arsenal and not having Palmer would be a huge blow to their chances.

Maresca’s men have made a good start to the season, but are still looking for that statement win having failed to beat Manchester City, Liverpool and United.

Palmer’s fitness during his time at Chelsea has been very good, but there’s a danger he could miss the Arsenal game, although he did post a hint on his social media on Friday.

The attacker posted a photo to his Instagram story of him doing recovery work, which could indicate he may have trained, although there’s no official confirmation of that.

Chelsea could be playing mind games with the Gunners over his fitness or they could genuinely not know if Palmer’s going play.

Alan Shearer has described Palmer’s rise as extraordinary and if he were to miss the game it would no doubt be a worse spectacle.

In a worst case scenario Christopher Nkunku or Joao Felix would replace Palmer in the number ten role, and it would be a huge opportunity for either player with both struggling for minutes in the Premier League.
