Exclusive says Chelsea had scouts watching striker who’s bagged 12 goals already this season

An exclusive report has claimed that Chelsea had scouts at a game last week to watch a striker who has already bagged 12 goals in 17 games so far this season.

As we will have heard plenty of times in recent months, Chelsea have been looking at new strikers and have been linked with many. We had the whole Victor Osimhen saga in the summer where Chelsea tried and failed to sign him, and there has been many other names linked as well, including the player who is the subject of this story!

But Chelsea are now being linked with a move to sign Jonathan David from Lille once again. The 24-year-old has often been linked with many of the big clubs, including Chelsea. And you feel that a big move is incoming for him very soon.

Clubs might be looking at him not just for his talent and eye for a goal, but also due to the fact that his current contract at Lille ends in the summer of 2025. So at this moment in time, he will be a free agent in the summer, and if his club want to get some cash for him, they will be open to selling him for a cheaper fee in January.

David has been banging in the goals

According to an exclusive report from TBR Football this week, Chelsea and Newcastle were among the clubs in attendance to watch Jonathan David score for Lille last weekend.

Juventus were also in attendance to watch apparently, and as also in the report, both Chelsea and Newcastle were also there to keep a check on Lyon star Rayan Cherki, who the duo hold long-term interest in and was playing in the same game.

David has apparently told Lille he won’t sign a new deal, meaning the French side would ideally like to sell the striker in January despite his goalscoring.
