Former Arsenal man has prediction about Man U – Chelsea we fully agree with

Chelsea play Manchester United this Sunday at Old Trafford and there’s a lot to play for.

The Red Devils have just today announced they’ve appointed a new manager in the form of Ruben Amorim, and while he won’t be in the dugout for this game, there should be a sudden sense of excitement and optimism around Old Trafford.

The “new manager bounce” was in full effect this week when they beat Leicester 5-2 in the Carabao Cup. On TalkSport, former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour gave his prediction. He’s backing both Chelsea and United to play out an entertaining draw.

“This is going to be an interesting game this weekend. I’ve gone 2-2. I think there might be goals in this, definitely,” Parlour mused.

“I think Ruud [van Nistelrooy] will go out and try to score that first goal; get this crowd right behind them. But Chelsea are dangerous. I mean [Cole] Palmer is on fire again.”

Chelsea and Man U predicted exciting draw between two teams who attack better than they defend

It’s a pretty solid prediction from Parlour, just going on form. Chelsea can’t defend at the moment – and that goes for the main team as well as the B team. But they are scoring freely, and we’re looking so dangerous on the break.

Manchester United – at least on the evidence of their midweek win under interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy – are in a similar situation. Playing at home with the shackles of the tense reign of Erik Ten Hag removed, we expect there to be a lot of attacking impetus and freedom restored.

So both teams to score a couple sounds pretty likely – let’s just hope that Chelsea can grab a 3rd and make it a much needed tough away win for Enzo Maresca and his team to get the season back on track after 3 bad results in the last 4.
