Chelsea play in a televised game this weekend, meaning plenty of extra content coming out early this week.
We’ve just had a great sort of “Mrs. and Mr.” game on the Premier League’s Twitter page, where Cole Palmer and Gianfranco Zola faced off answering questions about one another, mainly on who was better at what.
As you’d expect from two humble guys, they spend most of it arguing that their opposite number was better. In any case, it’s lovely to see so much mutual respect and admiration.
It sounds like there’s a funny bet on too – Cole Palmer will take Gianfranco Zola for dinner next time he scores a free kick. Palmer modestly says his last set piece scored was lucky, but it didn’t look like that to us. Zola was a master of them, but he also played in an era of much smaller goalkeepers.

The Palmer – Zola bromance reaches a a new level
We’ve heard plenty of praise of Palmer from Zola already. The Sardinian is seen as Palmer’s predecessor in many ways, and it’s great to know he’s passing on some knowledge behind the scenes.
“I could see straight away that he had qualities, but I didn’t see all of this coming. He has the ability to entertain” Zola said of his protégé in an interview with the BBC a month ago.
He has also previously backed him as a potential Ballon d’Or winner:
“He can be in contention for the Ballon d’Or because the numbers and the skills are there.”
This truly is a bromance for the ages – get Eden Hazard in the mix and you’ll have a trio that have entertained Chelsea fans from the 1990s to the (hopefully) 2030s.
