Chelsea have blasted their way back into a game they were losing 2-0 and have won it 4-3 thanks to a storming second half.
It wasn’t our best performance of the season by any means – in fact Enzo Maresca’s team were nervy and full of errors. But Tottenham were even shoddier, and we took full advantage.
The goal to make it 3-2 had a heavy Cole Palmer influence as he wormed his way into the box down the right. His pass was deflected, but so many defenders had been attracted to him that Enzo Fernandez was in plenty of space to spank home a volley of the loose ball.

Boys, I haven’t celebrated a goal like this since 2021
This truly defines it, my boy doing it on the grandest stage with the whole world watching and putting in a 12/10 all timer couldn’t have been scripted better.

Palmer central again as Chelsea roar back
The other two came from penalties. In both cases dreadful, stupid defending from Tottenham players. If you think watching Chelsea has been frustrating in the last couple of years – just imagine what it must be like for Spurs fans.
Cole Palmer lashed the first spot kick mid height, left footed into the net. You can see that goal in the clip embedded here:

The second was the cherry on top of this humiliation of Tottenham, a gorgeous little dinked panenka. You can see that effort here:

Fraser Forster may never recover from that.
What a wild game, and what a result for Enzo Maresca’s team, who climb within 4 points of the top of the table following Liverpool’s postponed derby game. This was a statement win which the team really needed, and there can be no doubters left about the astonishing improvements this team has made.
What will Maresca say about the title race tonight?
