There was talk last night of a Chelsea ‘revival’ being ‘crushed’ from one media outlet as The Blues were dumped out of The FA Cup fourth round.
Brighton came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 to send them packing early on in this historic cup competition.

Chelsea took a very early lead through and awful goalkeeping error from a Cole Palmer cross for the second week in a row, getting very lucky. But after that, nothing was good at all for Chelsea and Enzo Maresca made some other comments too after the game that Chelsea fans will be fuming with.
But even when Chelsea went 2-1 down, it didn’t look like they had much of an idea how to get that goal back and they looked very lethargic and just slow and boring all game really.
Rightly so, Enzo Maresca has received some blame and is also having more and more question marks placed over his head by Chelsea fans and the media recently. But for me, there are only three people to blame for how poor Chelsea have been, and it’s not Maresca.
Blame starts at the top
The Evening Standard wrote an article titled, ‘signs of revival immediately crushed as FA Cup exit builds pressure on Conference League success.’
Chelsea’s ‘revival’ didn’t last long in what was a decent start to the season, the bigger issues soon started creeping in again.
Those issues are the owners and the sporting directors. They are the ones who built this squad and made the hires of the sporting directors in the first place, and took the huge risk on Maresca, who could very well still come good.
The squad built and the amount of money they have spent on it, after FIVE transfer windows, is just not good enough, and for me, THAT is the big problem here, not the manager.

What’s clear is that Chelsea are really lacking the on-field leadership that Conor Gallagher provided.
For the sake of a sugar hit to their books, they got rid of him in exchange for Joao Felix – only to loan Felix out after six months. If there’s a master strategy here, I’m struggling to see it.
get rid of the sporting directors, they are clueless. M grandchild could do better. At this rate we wont be in the top 6.
It has been obvious for seasons that we need a goalkeeper, central defender and striker.
What do we do? Buy a midfielder for the future.
Who are these sporting directors?
Never understood this new ideology of having one group of people sign players and then the manager is just there to coach whatever rubbish he’s given. Let the manager make the signings. He knows his playstyle, he knows the players that he wants and will work in his team. Anything else is nonsense
