Chelsea have just conceded a late winner to Aston Villa from a corner.
The game was always going this way – the Blues took the lead then gradually surrendered control in a pattern which has become tediously familiar.
The ball was whipped to an awkward position towards the edge of the box at the near post, and it came at an awkward height for new arrival Marco Asensio. But he managed to adjust his feet and direct the ball towards goal.
It never should have gone in – but young goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen seemed taken by surprise and let the ball squirm underneath him. It’s a big mistake without doubt for a player who is only in the team because Robert Sanchez has been dropped for his own mistakes.
To make things worse, this looked like the game Jorgensen needed to cement his place as number one. He had been solid on the ball and made two really good saves with his legs, one in each half.
Ironically the second of those stops led to the corner which brought the goal.
Who could possibly have predicted that building your team around a collection of desperately average goalkeepers rather than one good one would lead to this sort of nightmare.
You can see Jorgensen’s mistake and the goal in the clips embedded here:
They've done it AGAIN!

Chelsea have nowhere left to turn after another defeat

So where do Chelsea go from here? This was always going to be a tough game, and the team actually did really well at times, and at least showed some heart.
But showing some desire is the minimum – we can’t be happy with a defeat just because the players actually tried. That’s about as damaging a mentality as we could possibly have.
Lowest of the low!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very disappointing?!?!?!?!
chelsea seem to be playing the same game over and over again for nine times in a row.
the moment they score the early goal, i turn off the tv, because what follows is a nerve wrecking way dow,
isn’t time for somebody to wake up this coach with a slap across the face. keeper is a scarecrow, defense – rickety,
at least, change to 3 at the back when you get ahed.
what a pathetic team!
No adjustments from maresca ….. Same old stories again and again and again . He should have played in gusto in midfield replace James and put in chalobah or acheampong to RB . He should have played KDH and replaced NKunKu to solidify the midfield . I’m sorry to the hard work of Neto and others . Bad management from top to bottom .
Don’t Blast The Players Blast Does Who Are The Ownership We Want Them To Go! Go!! Go!!! Away!!!!!
