Chelsea youngster Tyrique George is expected to feature on Tuesday night against Southampton according to reports.
The Blues host the Premier League’s bottom club in what is a must win game, with Enzo Maresca’s men currently on a run of two wins in their last ten league matches.
Following defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday the Blues have dropped to seventh in the table, although they are still just a point outside the top four.
George expected to feature for Chelsea against Southampton
Chelsea won’t get an easier opportunity at getting back to winning ways, with Southampton on course to go down as the worst team in Premier League history.
Maresca has stated the target is to finish in the top four, having previously insisted it wasn’t, and if the Blues are to do that they have to start with three points against the Saints.
Maresca switched things up tactically against Villa, with Reece James deployed in midfield, Cole Palmer moved to the right and Pedro Neto down the middle.
Chelsea aren’t blessed with options in attack and it was surprise to see George left on the bench, with Tosin Adarabioyo and Jadon Sancho the only changes Maresca made.
George is an exciting academy talent and the 19-year-old was labelled as a player for fans to watch by Romeo Lavia.
The teenager is now a full part of the first team squad, and fans were surprised he didn’t feature at all against Villa.
However, Mail Sport have reported that the youngster is expected to feature against Southampton, although whether he starts remains to be seen.
Jason Cundy praised George for his performance from the bench against Brighton and the winger has made 12 appearances for the first team this season, although he’s still waiting for that elusive first start in the Premier League.
Your are a British newspaper. Yet you put up such misleading headlines to make it look like English isnt your first language. And all of that just to serve as a clickbait.
Its a sham and a shame really.
