Top Chelsea insider provides update on the situation surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk

The FA are yet to charge Mykhailo Mudryk or announce he’s anything other than provisionally suspended according to reports.

It was announced in December that Mudryk had tested positive for a banned substance, and the winger has insisted he never knowingly took any banned substances.

Mudryk hasn’t featured for Chelsea since scoring in their 2-0 win in the Conference League against Heidenheim at the end of November.

The 24-year-old last appeared in the match day squad in the 3-0 win against Aston Villa on December 1st, where he was an unused substitute.

Updates on the Ukraine international have been few and far between since the news of his positive doping test broke in December.

It had been reported the result of his B sample was expected back in January, but there’s been no news and it’s now mid-March.

The last time Enzo Maresca was asked about Mudryk was at the end of last month and he simply said he had no news, and it feels like there’s a lot secrecy surrounding the case.

Some quotes attributed to Mudryk appeared on social media last week and Mail Sport have subsequently reported the winger hasn’t said anything.

Mail Sport have also provided an update on the Ukrainian and stated he’s yet to be charged by the FA and currently remains provisionally suspended.

The report also adds Chelsea are believed to have provided Mudryk with an individual programme to keep fit as  he’s not allowed at the club’s Cobham training base.

Of course these cases are legally complex and it can take a long time to reach any sort of conclusions, but right now it’s possible Mudryk may have played his last game for the club.

Until there’s any official updates anything else is likely to be pure speculation, but Chelsea will have a decision to take in regards to Mudryk soon.

  1. Been a supporter for 55years , watching Chelsea under maresca is like watching paint dry hope they dont win or qualify for europe so he gets the sack

  2. I have failed to understand the logic of the two directors of football at Chelsea as I was made to understand that they are the ones who make decisions as to which players must be loned out or which should be sold.
The Portuguese player Veiga is a utility player who can be deployed at three critical positions namely; centerback, leftback and defensive midfield position.
In addition, he has the physicality that is so critical to the English game. Yet, he is one of the players who were loaned out in January.
What a lot of nonsense to loan out a utility player at the time when his presence is needed at defensive midfield to compensate for the injured Romeo Lavia sothat Caicedo can be freed to run with the ball forward due to his skills and pace to supplement the skillful Chelsea no 20 who is so accurate when it come to shooting?
