Chelsea are not actively looking to sell centre back Tosin Adarabioyo this summer according to reports.
The Blues are gearing up for another busy summer, and it’s thought they could look to sell as many as seven or eight players to fund their business.
Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to reinforce Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Chelsea not actively looking to sell Tosin
There’s expected to be a lot of movement this summer, especially at centre back with Axel Disasi, Trevoh Chalobah and Renato Veiga all candidates to leave.
However, one player Chelsea aren’t looking to sell is Tosin, who arrived on a free transfer from Fulham last summer.
Mail Sport have reported Chelsea’s defence will undergo surgery this summer, but Tosin isn’t one of the players the club are looking to offload.
The report adds Chelsea sources can’t stress enough his influence internally, with one particular incident highlighted in the win against Everton.
During a break in play the 27-year-old was the only player on the bench standing up to offer tactical advice to his team-mates.
Young squad needs more guidance
Maresca praised Tosin for his leadership earlier this season and he’s certainly one of the players who is helping to fill that void.
The former Fulham man has made 20 Premier League appearances, with 13 of those as starts, although he was linked with a move to Brighton in January.
Ian Wright has suggested Chelsea need a Thiago Silva type signing, and the Blues have been linked with both Marc Guehi and Dean Huijsen.
Chelsea were said to be interested in Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk if he became available on a free transfer, whilst Jonathan Tah is an experienced centre back they could pick up on a free with his Bayer Leverkusen contract expiring at the end the season.
