“They can eat you alive” – Cole Palmer sends warning to team mates ahead of Newcastle

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has sent a warning to his team mates ahead of their game against Newcastle this afternoon.

The news comes after Chelsea beat Djurgarden 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night in the return leg of their Conference League cup semi-final match, winning the overall tie 5-1 – setting up a cup final against Real Betis at the end of this month.

Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall grabbed the only goal of the game and afterwards he says that him and his team mates really deserve credit for getting to the final, despite the competition not being the strongest one around.

Although Maresca has also hinted that he could end up breaking some hearts with his cup final starting team selection as he goes all out to try and win the final at the end of this month.

Focus on the Premier League

Chelsea have three huge games left now as they seek Champions League qualification for next season, and the games are going right down to the wire.

Manchester City only drew to Southampton yesterday, keeping them firmly in the fight for place, and even Arsenal are only two points ahead of them.

Chelsea’s game against Newcastle United today is now bigger than ever.

Palmer fires warning

Going to Newcastle and getting anything at all can be very tough, as Cole Palmer knows very well.

As reported by Kieran Gill of The Daily Mail, Palmer said:

“Newcastle is a big game. We need to go there and be brave. If you go there and you’re scared, they can eat you alive. We need to be on it.”
