Sky Germany: Chelsea pushing to finalise move for €100m star amid Liverpool interest

Chelsea are pushing and want to finalise a deal for Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The Blues are set for another busy summer and have already signed Liam Delap for £30m with more new faces expected.

Chelsea face a critical window and could add another striker, but the club are also looking for a centre back, goalkeeper and right footed attacker.

With Delap through the door the Blues are looking to add another attacker following  the departure of Jadon Sancho.

Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are expected to leave meaning the Blues could do with a versatile forward to fill the void.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with Ekitike, but Frankfurt are said to want €100m for the 22-year-old who scored 22 goals last season.

The Blues are said to be working on reaching a verbal agreement with Ekitike and Plettenberg has now provided a further update.

He took to X.com and quoted his earlier update on Ekitike:

“Chelsea are pushing and want to finalise the deal – but Liverpool are also there. #CFC #LFC”

It’s been reported the Blues hold an advantage over Liverpool in the race for the France under-21 international, but it would appear unlikely any potential deal would be done in time for Ekitike to feature at the Club World Cup.

Chelsea offered chance to sign Mohammed Kudus

If Chelsea fail to agree a deal for Ekitike they have other names on their list including England international Morgan Rogers.

However, West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus has emerged as a potential target and Chelsea are said to have been offered the chance to sign the 24-year-old.

Kudus is believed to want to play Champions League football and Chelsea are said to have had an offer including players rejected.

The Ghana international has an £85m clause in his deal active for Premier League clubs, but it remains to be seen if Chelsea would be prepared to pay anywhere near that amount.

  1. Sign kudus and ekitike , this two player’s are strong forward attacker’s can makes defence crumble . Kudus is proven in EPL and his world class player . Ekitike is ready to be world class player too and he can be prove his ready to play in EPL and adds up gitten . Remember the club is in UCL now they need to be strong competitive team to lifts the trophy and win the EPL . Kudus is a versatile player that can play in any position in attacking system . Ekitike should be too to give Delap help . Keep Jackson to give Neto help in the wing . Kudus Palmer combo will be lethal with the support of current squad and plus the coming of Santos . I hope the manager will make this squad all happy . Promote acheampong at RB as a deputy of James and keep chalobah and Tosin . Get Hato and guehi or brantwaite . Maignan must be sign offload Sanchez . Makes Jorgensen number 2 but if petrovic wants to comeback give him a chance to prove himself to maresca .

    1. great take and a very good analysis but im against the signing of maignan, hes not a type for chelsea maybe giving petrovic a chance would be more meaninful.

      1. Hope your submission about maignan is not bc of their match with Spain bc he did well but the defence was floppy.
The guy is better than Sanchez

    2. Prioritising kudus cuold be best offer them noni or nkunku and add money for kudus culd b a better bargain . As for Ekiti he hasnt proven this is Epl tgat outstrageous amount is not we can afford .for gitten im affriad so it wount turn out to be nkunkus and Dissasi .babashile wrong buying
