Maresca names five players who have really improved under him
There were a number of difficult moments throughout the season especially after Christmas, but the team rallied well and finished really strongly.
Despite achieving what many felt were the targets before a ball was kicked there are still fans who don’t like Maresca, and the 45-year-old has received a lot of criticism for his style of play.
However, in the difficult moments the young squad came of age and showed maturity, especially in the run-in when the pressure was really on.
There were a number of standout performers throughout the season, and the team really improved from the previous season.
Maresca has spoken about the improvement made throughout the season and he named five players he felt had really improved.
“I’ve said many times that you can improve the team if you improve players,” he told Chelsea’s website.
“I have seen since we started that the players are improving, and that is the most important thing. Levi Colwill, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Noni Madueke, so many of these players are getting better and better.”
Chelsea expected to go on deep run at Club World Cup
The Blues are currently in America preparing for the Club World Cup and Maresca is expected to go on a deep run in the competition.
Chelsea’s first game is against Los Angeles FC on Monday night before games again Flamengo and ES Tunis to round out the group stage.
Fans will have the opportunity to see a number of new faces including Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, Andrey Santos and Mamadou Sarr.
Those player’s are improved already before he came to Chelsea FC plus even those coming in . He place himself high as manager coach . I don’t like his system of play , his tactics are average . His adjustment not good, his selection of player’s bad . He almost cost the club of bad selection in CLc final . Only the determination of the players that makes the club won the tournament . My hope he will treat the new comer with respect not playing them out of position the way he played NKunKu in his weakest position . NKunKu should be playing in the middle behind striker . If he will play inverted midfield they will be exposed plus they don’t have a strong CBs . It’s a blessing chalobah improve a lot and the experience of Tosin . In this tournament he should play the team three at back and if playing four at the back he should play three CMs .
Bro I can see you need the work more than he does
