Chelsea may have completed a deal to sign Liam Delap, but that hasn’t slowed them down in looking to sign another striker to reinforce their front line.
One of the names being mentioned most often was that of Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt, and today we’ve got an update from Fabrizio Romano on our nascent attempts to sign him.
Frankfurt sporting director stands firm with demands for mega money
Markus Krösche, the Frankfurt sporting director who has done such an exceptional job of signing players like Ekitike and selling players like Omar Marmoush for huge money, was quoted today talking about the bids for his latest starlet:
“If the price isn’t right, then he will stay with us”, Krösche told told paper Wiesbadener Kurier.
Romano quoted this, then made it clear that no bid had yet come in from Chelsea:
“Chelsea never sent any bid; only asked for deal conditions two weeks ago and Eintracht wanted €100m,” the top Italian transfer insider said.
Chelsea don’t feel like contenders for Ekitike after latest red line
This one sounds dead in the water at this stage. Frankfurt would likely accept less than €100m, but not much less. It would still be impossible for Chelsea to pay the sort of money they’re looking for, especially now they’ve got Delap signed up and can relax a little.
As recently as a week ago, Florian Plettenberg was saying we were looking to “finalise” a deal for the Ekitike. That looks very premature now. We suspect we will see France youth star stick around in the Bundesliga for at least another year now, considering Frankfurt’s strong bargaining position.
Still, you can never rule anything out, and there’s a lot of summer left to get through…
So apart from Delap, who else can Chelsea successfully sign this window? Mmmtttcchhheeewww!!! Just annoying!!!
Is really sad that, our team has to go through this. We are suffering because of not willing to do the needful by our leaders.
Chelsea really need an aggressive striker like Osimehn!
Chelsea sport directors want to do business, finally they will sack coaches because the go for inferior players, cheap not super players. And am never see a team where sport director are two. They are doing business.
Chelsea owners leave this Bundesliga striker ekitike alone,most Bundesliga players don’t do well in primiership, all Chelsea fans prefers the likes of Osihmen, this guy is good and can win us any League, prefered strikers for me should have been Osihmen and Nicolas jackson though.
Our leaders aren’t ready yet, they still want to put us through another season of emotional trauma, when did Chelsea become this shortsighted?
Buy us a world class striker , they had refused since last season.
Chelsea should use the money for this Ekitiki to sign a strong world striker like Osimen stop wasting money on ignorance remember Lukaku saga. There are a lot of average players you buy and groom. Look at psg if. the coach knows what he’s doing. All the players bought under Maresca are dead woods they can not deliver because he’s major problem is team selection!!!!
We don’t need ekitike.. they should marry their player… they are looking for who to rip off.. the guy is not even good enough

I think chelsea is really preparing for the new comming season
The only thing that Chelsea are suffering from is, a strong and fast attackers. We need a good strong attackers so that whenever any defender sees you with the ball, he will be panicking and finds it very difficult to tackle you. But the attackers we have now are, try your luck attackers. We are now in the champions league and we are aiming for trophies so we have to know what to do before it will be too late.
