Wow, we’re really getting desperate now.
It’s the second Wednesday of the October international break, and boy do we need that Friday press conference to come around and give us a fresh injection of things to talk about.
In the meantime we’re really starved of Chelsea content. It’s got to the point where we’re reading Filip Jorgensen’s “Football Firsts” on the club’s website. When you’re reading about the backup goalkeeper, you know things have got desperate.
To be fair, the Swedish Dane has some interesting things to say.
Jorgensen’s football firsts

He says his first ever football shirt was a green Iker Casillas Real Madrid kit, and that his first team was called Nike, spelled like the brand but pronounced “nee-kay.”
There’s also the question of who he first roomed with. He says he bunked with Alexander Sorloth when he was at Villareal, as they put all the Scandinavians together. “We don’t see each other so often anymore but we still speak sometimes,” Jorgensen says with a tinge of sadness.
He says his first emotion on signing for Chelsea was “happiness.”
“I was very, very happy. Obviously it was a huge step in my career, reaching this level. I was really happy for myself, my family, everyone close to me. I was just happy.”
Jorgensen’s playing prospects this season look slim
Jorgensen has not played much this season as Robert Sanchez is going to play both league and Champions League. Enzo Maresca has promised him minutes, but it’s hard to see where they come outside of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. We look like we’ll be in the fight for the Champions League top 8 right up until the final gameweek, so he can’t expect a chance there necessarily.
He’s going to have to be very patient.
