The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has named the candidate who “is going to be a Chelsea manager” amidst Enzo Maresca doubts.
This week has seen a whole lot of drama bubble up at Stamford Bridge surrounding head coach Maresca.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea eyeing a second striker from Ligue 1 as well as Emanuel Emegha!
There was some breaking news yesterday, actually from Ornstein as well, suggesting that Manchester City were eyeing Maresca as a top candidate to replace Pep Guardiola, who looks like he could depart the club in the summer.
Maresca actually did his best Pep Guardiola impression after Chelsea’s win over Cardiff in midweek, claiming he was “very happy” while looking anything but. It was as unsettling as you could imagine…
Rosenior to replace him?

Ornstein, speaking on The Athletic Podcast yesterday with words from it cited on X, said:
“There are many people who already saying Liam Rosenior at Strasbourg is going to be a Chelsea manager in the future, whether it’s in the immediate or medium or longer term. And that shows their contingency plans, like all well organized top clubs will be in place in one way, shape or form.”
One of them that feels inevitable
You read stories and situations and this is just one of them that feels like it will happen, like it is inevitable.
Rosenior to replace Maresca at Chelsea this summer? I’d certainly not be putting any money against that happening.
