Ricardo Carvalho accidentally points out a huge difference between this team and Chelsea’s title winners

We’ve just been complaining about Robert Sanchez’s comments after the game on Saturday.

Chelsea drew 0-0 with Bournemouth, making it 3 games without a win. Sanchez then said that “if you can’t win a game, it’s better not to lose it.”

While that’s technically true, it also represents a pretty negative attitude which we don’t really agree with. It certainly isn’t the kind of thing you would have heard Ricardo Carvalho, one of the stars of Jose Mourinho’s legendary team, say.

Chelsea didn’t need to play well to win – now they do

The defender has been speaking a little about his time with the Blues. Carvalho is now an assistant coach for Portugal’s national team.

“Sometimes you have teams that need to play well to get results,” said Carvalho in an exclusive with the Irish Mirror.

“In that time at Chelsea, what I feel now when I think about it, is that team sometimes didn’t need to play so well to get results, because it was difficult to play against us.

“That was down to teamwork. Damien Duff was a winger but he was also defending, helping the team. Of course you also had Robben on the other side who was so quick that it was difficult to defend him. And then Didier Drogba was a great player up front.”

We don’t have any players on that level now – and we certainly don’t have players with the right attitude to win a title like they didn’t as far as we can tell.

In other news…

Beyond affairs on the pitch, Chelsea are continuing to target top young players from all over the world. The latest talent is from close to home – Southampton have produced another gem we’ve got our sights on.

Robert Sanchez made some comments after Saturday’s game which a lot of fans won’t be too happy about – standards are on the floor right now.

  1. I think Chelsea should get back to their old style of play in order to win rather than playing very well without any score.

  2. Well, all in all respect matters. From all corners of this universe, football is a uniting sport. That’s why it calls for total respect no matter who the discussion is about whether club, country, players or managers.

Coming on this point I started supporting Chelsea FC in 1996, and have seen the clubs trends in different fields. From mistakes of Avram Grant, again you bring in Porter, then comes Maresca, what have witnessed some managers have levels and clubs they can manage without pressure but names like Chelsea came far.

Our clubs norm goes well with lethal attackers like Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka, Torre Andy Flo, Torres , Diego Costa,

And also to make such a team great, we normally act with mid fielder generals like , John Obi Mikel, Makelele, Ngolo Kante and those who once existed,

But now s club with Liam Dilap as an attacker, Pedro Joao as selfish as he is, with Snchez as your number one keeper……

    Hahaha……..

Well, probably the management is concetrating on a project because they’re bringing in talents with experience.

Such a team can be well managed by Gardiola or Arteta.

They team needs to be fixed by the right manager, a manager who spends 25 minutes on the pitch and fails to notice mistakes in his own system of playing is not worthy taking charge of such a big team.

Fine, the club has a sporting director, but it’s your role to understand which item fits on which stall.

Best example was Manchester United, Chelsea match which involved Sanchez red card, seriously you know Cole Palmer is not yet at his best from serious injury, you have one of the best talented attacking winger( Estevao William) you panic to put out senior Neto Pedro and Estevao, bringing on straggling Palmer.

What happened, all substitutes were done and Palmer got unwell due to injuries, you have a red card, again one of your attackers came out of the play.

We should take examples of young talents like Yamal of Barcelona and Amad of Manchester United, given enough time of playing though monitored keenly, you bring out the best from them, also they learn to fight for their places in the teams.

I didn’t mean to be rude on anyone but, that’s my view regarding the current form and style of play of Chelsea FC.
