I don’t think any of us expected to be covering Chelsea’s search for yet another new manager on New Years Day, right?
But that is what happened to welcome in 2026, because Enzo Maresca and Chelsea decided to part ways yesterday just as Chelsea fans were waking up and brushing off any hangovers from New Years Eve.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea back in for former striker target who stands at 6ft 4in tall!!
It’s been an insane 24 hours since then and of course, every fan wants to know, who will replace Maresca now he’s gone?
There has been all sorts of names linked with Chelsea since yesterday, including the likes of Roberto De Zerbi and Cesc Fabregas. But it looks like neither of them will be taking the reigns at Chelsea just yet.
The name we are hearing about the most, perhaps because he will be the easiest new manager to put in place and one they can get done very fast, is Liam Rosenior from BlueCo club Strasbourg.
So, what is the latest on Rosenior?

Romano posted his latest info via YouTube last night.
He says:
“Liam Rosenior is leading the shortlist to become the next Chelsea manager.
“Initial talks took place internally as Rosenior is seen as main candidate to become head coach after Maresca.
“Strasbourg are assessing replacements for Liam Rosenior if Chelsea proceed.”
Another yes man coming in
Chelsea’s owners don’t want a manager who comes in and challenges the project or makes demands, so Rosenior is another easy yes man because he’s already playing with the BlueCo group and already plays the style of football Chelsea owners want to see played.
It’s all rather depressing as a Chelsea fan right now. Sigh.
