Liam Rosenior was sacked by Chelsea on Wednesday evening following a run of five defeats in a row without scoring.

The 41-year-old signed a six and a half year contract in January, but less than four months later has been given his marching orders.

Chelsea have admiration for Cesc Fabregas

Callum McFarlane has been placed in temporary charge for the remainder of the season, and he over saw a draw with Manchester City and a defeat to Fulham earlier in the season.

Attention now turns to who the Blues will look to appoint next, and it’s understood the club will take their time to ensure they make the right decision.

Andoni Iraola is reportedly one of the favourites for the job, but it’s understood he’d need some convincing if he were to be approached.

The Guardian have reported there’s expected to be between five-ten candidates for the job, and Chelsea have admiration for Fabregas and Francesco Farioli, but there’s no standout candidate.

Chelsea have now sacked two managers this season, and this is another huge failure for the hierarchy, who are coming under serious pressure from supporters.
