Chelsea favourite takes swipe at Arsenal’s golden boy

Jason Cundy, who played for Chelsea between 1988 and 1992 but is perhaps better known these days as a host on Chelsea TV, has successfully riled Arsenal fans across the globe. His subject matter? It’s the perennial international break classic: Mesut Ozil is a flat track bully.

Cundy set out his still in no uncertain terms on his Footballfan.zone, as quoted in the Evening Standard:

“Aside from not being world class, he isn’t even the best player at his club right now as Sanchez is proving more important and I wouldn’t have him anywhere near Chelsea.

Cundy went on to say that he would take Spurs’ Dele Alli to Stamford Bridge over Ozil.

The German’s performances for Arsenal have been excellent, although it is true that his best moments – like the outrageous goal against Ludogorets this week – have come against weaker teams.

Arsenal have had a strong start to the season and look to have a better shot at the title this year than they have for a long time. But they will have to win some big games – including the reverse fixture against Chelsea – along the way to get over the line. If Ozil ever wanted a good chance to prove his doubters wrong, now he has it.
