Fabrizio Romano name drops Chelsea player speaking on Player of the Season

We are now at the end of the season and everyone will be thinking about who deserves to win the Player of the Season award for the Premier League.

Chelsea have not had a great season but can still end it reasonably well by qualifying for European football and in actual fact, manager Mauricio Pochettino’s immediate future at the club is expected to be dependent on them getting to the Europa League.

Everyone will have their opinions and different reasons for why they believe a certain player should be named as the best player of the season, and you can’t imagine that many people will be thinking about Chelsea players. The only Chelsea player who deserves it this season is Cole Palmer, and him winning it would actually be pretty justified in my opinion.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has taken a quick break from reporting transfers to answer who he believes should win the POTS award, but unfortunately he doesn’t give much away, although he does name drop Palmer in his answer.

Romano said “Cole Palmer is the one who impressed me the most but Haaland, Saka and Rice also have a good chance to win as they deserve it. Let’s see who’s going make an impact in the final games, for my vote that’s a crucial step!”

So we don’t know who he is going to vote for yet, but Palmer being in the conversation may mean he decides to go with the 22-year-old.

Palmer has actually just turned 22 only today and he has already become the Chelsea talisman, often having to carry this team through periods of this season. Thankfully though, others are now stepping up around him and taking off the burden slightly. Both Nicolas Jackson and Non Madueke have been very good in the last few games.
