Former Blue says Chelsea player is “worthy of a place” in starting lineup at Euros

Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin has had his say on one Chelsea player ahead of the international European Championships starting up this summer.

There will be a heavy involvement of Chelsea players in the competition, and there will certainly be a few looking to make the England squad too.

EXCLUSIVE! Strong chance Pochettino now stays, Benjamin Sesko could arrive at CFC this summer, Victor Osimhen swap-deal unlikely, Tosin Adarabioyo contract demands, Much more…

Reece James is battling to be fit to make it, Ben Chilwell is doing the same. Conor Gallagher is largely expected to be on the plane with Gareth Southgate and the rest of his players, and Cole Palmer will most certainly now be joining after a magnificent debut season for the club.

Not only will Palmer likely be going to the Euros with England, there is a very strong argument that he should be starting games for them.

That is exactly what Nevin believes needs to happen, and I am sure there isn’t a Chelsea fan, and many other fans of other clubs out there too, who does not agree with that.

In words picked up by SPTC, Nevin said: “He [Cole Palmer] is worthy of a place in the England starting lineup alongside Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka. There is an argument that he has the best vision of all of the above, something that will be needed in Germany.”

Palmer has just picked up the Chelsea Player of the Season award as well as the Players’ Player of the Season award at the event at Stamford Bridge last night, and he will be now looking to improve on his amazing first season as a Chelsea player by going onto the Euros and helping England with their quest to bring that trophy home.

If you have the privilege of having a quality player like Palmer in your squad at all, then more often that not you are going to have to start him in games!
