Former Blue Frank Leboeuf has admitted his frustration over how Chelsea are being run under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital is now turning to anger.
Despite vast investment in the transfer market things haven’t gone to plan on the pitch with the club finishing a miserable 12th in the 2022/2023 campaign before improving to a sixth placed finish last season.
Chelsea’s owners have been heavily criticised at times and are already on their fourth permanent manager since they took over the club.
Leboeuf angry at how Chelsea are being run
The new ownership are trying to do things in a completely different way to what Chelsea are used to, and a major change has been the club’s change of tact in the transfer market.
Instead of going for established stars Chelsea are looking at signing the best young talents from around the world, hoping they will develop into world class players.
The Blues have now gone two consecutive seasons without Champions League football and silverware, and the pressure is going to be on new boss Enzo Maresca to stop the rot.
Leboeuf has admitted his frustration with the ownership is now turning to anger and accused his former club of not “thinking differently.”
“I’m frustrated as a former Chelsea player. I still follow all my former clubs and especially Chelsea, as something special happened with me and the fans there when I was at the club,” he told BoyleSports.
“My frustration is now turning to anger. Chelsea change coaches but they are not thinking differently. I try to stay neutral, even when Chelsea play Man United, but I have to be professional.
“Chelsea as a football club is just not working and we are becoming a mockery for other clubs. We live in the present and not the future, fans want results and I want results, I don’t want to wait four years to get them.”
Leboeuf’s thoughts are likely to be echoed by many supporters who have become frustrated with the direction the club are heading in, and the ownership really need good results next season to ensure the relationship between supporters and owners doesn’t worsen.
This is true it seems that decisions are taken by the wrong people.
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I SAID THAT THESE STUPID YANKS HAVE TOTALLY RUINED A ONCE PROUD CLUB. TO TAKE OVER, AND MAKE FINANCE AVAILABLE IS GOOD, JUST LIKE ROMAN DID, BUT HE LET HIS CHOICE OF COACH DECIDE WHICH PLAYERS TO BRING IN, AND WE BECAME A TOP RATED EURO CLUB. THESE CLOWNS HAVE SIMPLY TURNED OUR CLUB INTO A LAUGHING STOCK.
