Cole Palmer looks concerned in the new kit.

Cole Palmer shares honest thoughts on £32m Chelsea ace

Cole Palmer was full of praise for Nicolas Jackson after Chelsea’s impressive 3-0 win against West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues put in arguably their best performance of the season as they ran out comfortable winners with Jackosn playing a starring role as he scored twice and assisted Palmer for Chelsea’s third goal.

After an impressive debut campaign in which Jackson scored 17 goals in all competitions with 14 of those coming in the Premier League he’s started the season with three goals and two assists in five league matches.

Palmer praises Jackson

All the talk over the summer was about Chelsea needing to sign a striker to compete with and possibly displace Jackson and he’s responded in the perfect way with his start to the campaign.

After a frustrating performance against Bournemouth in which Christopher Nkunku came off the bench to score the winner there was a lot of talk about how the France international should perhaps start over Jackson against the Hammers.

The 23-year-old emphatically silenced the doubters with two brilliant finishes to put Chelsea in control of the game, whilst also perfectly picking out Palmer for the all important third goal.

Jackson has had a lot of criticism during his time in England but he’s continuing to prove people wrong and after the game Palmer heaped praise on the Senegal international and said all the players rate him highly.

“A tough place to come and a good three points, we are happy,” he told TNT Sports.

“Everybody knows he [Nicolas Jackson] is a top player, he needs to keep going.

“The Chelsea fans and players rate him highly, we know what he is capable of.

“There will always be noise, we try to block it out and listen to the manager, we have a good manager and it can only help us to get better.”

Neither Jackson or Palmer are likely to be involved against Barrow in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night so they will be fresh for Saturday as Brighton visit Stamford Bridge.
