There are four main reasons as to why Todd Boehly has fallen out with Behad Eghbali and Clearlake Capital according to Sky Sports.
The international break seemed to be passing by pretty uneventfully, but as with Chelsea things can never be quiet for too long.
On Friday evening there was a bombshell announcement first reported by business outlet Bloomberg that Chelsea’s main share holders were exploring their options after just over two years of owning the Blues.
Four reasons why Boehly has fallen out with Clearlake
Whilst the news certainly comes a shock, it shouldn’t be a complete surprise given it’s felt like the relationship between Boehly and Eghbali has been strained for a while.
After the summer window of 2022 Boehly has seemingly very much taken a back seat on the footballing side of things with Eghbali and Jose Feliciano very much the driving force behind any footballing decisions.
As for the reasons for the fallout Sky Sports have reported four main reasons which include the under performance of the club and the lack of progress on a new stadium.
Why Todd Boehly is falling out with Clearlake Capital:
🔹 Disagreements over the club's direction.
🔹Too many recruits.
🔹The club's underperformance.
🔹The inability to progress in the construction of a new stadium.~ @SkySportsNews pic.twitter.com/CaqeYKs8Cu

However, with the way the ownership is structured it’s believed that everyone has to sign off on major decisions, whilst it’s also thought Clearlake and Eghbali have no intentions of selling any of their shares worth 62%.
The most likely scenario is either party buying each other out, but whether Boehly has the capital to do that remains to be seen.
It’s not great to have owners that after just over two years seemingly can’t get along with each other and are in disagreement over the direction of the club.
Whilst it’s thought that nothing is imminent in regards to shares being sold the reality is it’s better to have an ownership who are all on the same page regardless of the idea, over one that are pulling in opposite directions.
