“That’s the target” – Moises Caicedo shares ambitious aim for his time at Stamford Bridge

Moises Caicedo has admitted he found it tough when he first arrived at Chelsea and once again reiterated what his personal targets are at the club.

Caicedo arrived at Chelsea last summer for a British record transfer from Brighton, but initially struggled to find his feet following his move and had a debut to forget against West Ham.

As the campaign went on the midfielder started to find his feet, especially towards the end of the season and he put in a series of impressive performances, and scored a goal of the season contender on the final day against Bournemouth.

Having featured sparingly in pre-season due to his exploits with Ecuador at the Copa America, Caicedo looks like a player reborn under Enzo Maresca.

The 22-year-old has been one of Chelsea’s standout performers as the Blues picked up four wins from their opening six games and arguably had his best performance for the club in last month’s win over West Ham.

Caicedo looks back to his combative best and has dominated the midfield on a number of occasions this season, with it looking like he’s getting back to the form he showed for Brighton.

The Ecuador international has reflected on his time at Chelsea so far in a recent interview and revealed what his ambitions are.

“At the beginning of last season it was a little bit tough for me,” Caicedo told Chelsea’s website.

“It’s a very big club and you have to get used to it. I learned a lot.

“When someone new comes in with new ways, you need to adapt to a new club and playing with the impression that you need to win every game.

“Now I am more adapted to the club, with the new training staff, which is good. I have more confidence and I’m playing good football. My team-mates also have helped me a lot on and off the pitch. I’m really enjoying it.

“As I said when I arrived here, I would like to become a legend here and that’s what I’m working hard to do every day. That’s the target.”
