Something historic has just happened: Cole Palmer has missed a penalty for the first time in his senior career.
After 12 scored in a row, his streak has ended against Leicester.
It wasn’t the worst spot kick in the world – it was pretty hard and low and while not perfectly into the corner, it would have been enough to beat most keepers.
But when it’s not your day it’s not your day, and it’s not even Palmer’s year so far. Mads Hermansen in the Leicester goal made a superb stop, diving full length to his left to keep it out. Chelsea players couldn’t believe it, and were sure the Foxes stopper must have left his line. But it was all legit – just a great save from the man who we were briefly linked to in the summer.

Palmer miss adds to his woes and takes crisis of confidence to new level

Where do we go from here? This has just crystalised Palmer’s form from a “bad patch” to a seriously worrying period. This miss sums it all up, and the only way out of it now is for him to start scoring from open play.
Playing him from the start against Copenhagen this week was a pretty clear attempt by Enzo Maresca to get him firing again but it’s backfired. It’s the same story with the penalty today – what should have been the ideal chance to get him smiling and scoring has now had the reverse effect and really deepened his problems.
The unshakable has been shaken, and has been proved to be human after all.
NKunKu should be plat the middle not at wing . This manager is not good . The left wing side is weak move Palmer in the left wing . And plus Caceido alone in central midfield not good . Not good system Sancho can’t cross the ball . Cucu likes to help the offence and his position is exposed they will be counter from midfield to the wing . And with Sanchez in the goal this game is dodgy for Chelsea FC . Manager system is average . I miss the likes of mou conti and tuchel hiddink even Di Matteo sarri benitez at least this managers won’t as trophies . And now they appointed mediocre averages manager and look up the club now …. Spend billions and they play bad …. They paid money for Enzo and Caceido but never even surrounded them by world class players . I see Neto is really work hard to win . NKunKu been playing out of his strength just to compensate Palmer . This Chelsea FC club not one man player . You need to buy world class player that ready to help the team champions again . And appoint world class manager . If you made lampard a manager why not try JT even as a assistant manager coach of the team with Ashley cole . Your investment will be failure if you keep buying kiddos that is being toast around . It’s better to buy experience player’s at the right ages with skills and talents .
