Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has described Robert Sanchez as “truly fantastic” but believes no one talks about him.
Sanchez has had a difficult time at Chelsea since joining from Brighton and has made a number of high profile errors during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Fans were desperate for a new goalkeeper to be signed in the summer, but the Blues turned down the chance to since AC Milan star Mike Maignan.
Luis de la Fuente praises Robert Sanchez
With hindsight that decision is now looking the right one, and Sanchez has put in a number of impressive performances this season.
The Spain international has proven to be a safe pair of hands, and other than the red card against Manchester United at the start of the season he’s cut out the mistakes.

Sanchez has also improved his distribution, and his upturn in form is most welcome given Chelsea’s struggles in the goalkeeping position.
The 28-year-old has just three caps for Spain, but De La Fuente has hailed Sanchez as “truly fantastic” and claims no one speaks about him.
“Five or six of the best goalkeepers in the world,” he told AS.
“But no one talks about Robert Sánchez. No one talks about Leo Román… and Joan García, obviously.
“I mean, we have fantastic goalkeepers in Spain – truly fantastic.”

Chelsea ace could make the World Cup?
Given the competition for places in goal Sanchez could have a tough task on his hands to make the squad for the World Cup this summer.
However, De La Fuente has stated a lot could change between now and then, but insisted he was backing the current keepers.
“It’s true that right now we’re backing these three. And we’re absolutely delighted with Unai [Simon], with David [Raya], and with Álex [Remiro],” he added.
“But we’ll see what happens between now and March, just look how much can still happen, and then what happens by June, only God knows that.”
