Chelsea dropped points for the second consecutive league game as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Clarets at Stamford Bridge.

Joao Pedro gave the Blues the lead in the fourth minute, but the Blues were pegged back as Zian Flemming headed home a stoppage time equaliser.

Journalist on Cole Palmer reaction to be being substituted

Chelsea should have pushed on, but in an all too familiar script this season they were unable to put a game to bed.

Palmer should have done better with a first half chance, and things were made more difficult in the second after Wesley Fofana got sent off.

In response Rosenior took Palmer off and replaced him with Tosin Adarabioyo, and the attacker expressed his frustration at coming off.

It’s not the first time Palmer has had that kind of reaction to being taken off, and Burt feels Rosenior needs to be stronger with players.

“I really did not like Cole Palmer’s reaction [when he was substituted],” he told Sky Sports News as quoted on X.com.

“I think that’s got to stop , you can do it once, but he’s doing it every time he gets substituted. Now, if I’m Rosenior, I’m saying to him, ‘okay, fine, but look at yourself, you miss chances. I had to take somebody off.

“And it had to be you look at your own game as well. So I think he needs to be like that with the players as well, a bit more stronger.

“I think that needs to be knocked on the head.”

Liam Rosenior fumes at dropped points

It was the second consecutive league game the Blues have dropped points in from a winning position, with Rosenior unhappy with his team.

In fact Rosenior accused Chelsea of setting fire to four points, with the Blues having now dropped 19 points from winning positions this season.

It’s something that has to be improved if Chelsea are going to qualify for the Champions League, with the race for the top five very tight.

  1. I am definitely in the minority saying this…(right?).When a strategy from the managers instructions produces scraps or few chances-it puts more “pressure “ on the star players to score these one off chances.IT SHOULD NOT BE LIKE THAT in a game. And then the manager turns around to blame players for missing one or two chances‍♂️.I see managers ignore the issue of sloppiness and fitness during training, and then expect magic turn arounds during matches.Press conferences, managers say-“The players were slow and second best to every ball,we should do better”.I ask:All 11 players were poor?Whose fault?

    1. I think the strategy is at fault in last few games, maybe more. We stopped having two wingers – now everything down the middle – the easiest to predict and defend – and no clear striker to aim for. Also, not subbing Forfana on yellow at half time was stupid – he was a liability and it cost us. That said, the defending and tracking with crosses is diabolical and has been all season. Look at stats. These are ALL coaching decisions. Not keeping T Silva shows how naive we are as a defence and management.

  2. The Chelsea players like to reduce the temple of the game, they always like to play with the keeper always. It should not supposed to be like that, and please always play with the wingers in the game u can’t use liam and Fernandez to play in wings when u have good wingers. The player must learn to shoot out of 18 yards.
